Описание: FINAL CHAPTER is a short film dealing with themes of paranoia and imposter syndrome. Iris, the main character, is unconfident in her own work and haunted by a figure that only she can see. As her uncertainty grows, so do the appearances of the figure, despite being repeatedly reassured. Eventually, her drive for perfection leads her down a path with no return. Iris’ story is a reflection of my own experiences with anxiety and self-doubt. Throughout the short, there is a heavy focus on production design and mise-en-scene. The background colors are purposefully kept dull and warm for the majority of the film, making Iris’ purple clothing and the figure’s red eyes pop. I was very intentional with the colors I chose, purple being the color of transformation and misfortune to come, red being the color of power and defiance. I had several inspirations when writing the story and creating the visuals for Final Chapter, most notably The Twilight Zone (1959-64), The Shining (1980), Sixth Sense (1999), and the book If It’s Purple, Someone’s Gonna Die by Patti Bellantoni.
