🇬🇧 Flight around the Nowy Wirek shaft tower – archival footage from autumn 2017

A short drone flight around the Nowy Wirek shaft tower of the former coal mine bearing the same name, which has been inactive for several years. The footage was recorded in autumn 2017, when the area of the former mining complex was already largely cleared and prepared for further transformation.

The shots clearly show how extensive the mining site once was and how much empty space remained after the demolition of industrial infrastructure. Vast open areas, the absence of buildings, and only a few remaining relics effectively illustrate the scale of changes that have taken place in this location over recent years.

Ein kurzer Drohnenflug um den Schachtturm Nowy Wirek der gleichnamigen Steinkohlenzeche, die seit mehreren Jahren außer Betrieb ist. Die Aufnahmen stammen aus dem Herbst 2017, als das Gelände des ehemaligen Bergwerks bereits größtenteils leer war und auf weitere Veränderungen vorbereitet wurde.

Die Bilder zeigen deutlich, wie weitläufig das Zechengelände einst war und wie viel freie Fläche nach dem Rückbau der industriellen Infrastruktur zurückgeblieben ist.
