In Ho Chi Minh city (FKA Saigon), it seems there are literally hundred markets throughout the city in all 22 districts.
This vlog was recorded at the Phung Hung market in District 5, Chinatown. As the recording of this video, the Lunar New Year was about two weeks away.
However, this market was not as crowded as the markets in district 4 where I usually go. Perhaps I missed most of the crowds as the locals start their day WAAAY early!
Fortunately, when I arrived the market was still in 'half swing' 😆. I managed to sample a delicious tradition Chinese fried cake. This dish is served in most Cantonese dim sum restaurants in Vietnam, and other countries Chinatown areas.
As for the Thien Hau Pagoda, I was surprised to read the post at the front door that they no longer allow video taping inside the building. I walked in and not many people inside as it used to be. When cameras/filiming are not allowed, less people stay long inside the pagoda...
Happy Lunar New Year 🐴
