Visit the ancient ruins of Cholula Pyramid in Puebla Mexico. This site was very important to the Toltecs, Mayans and Aztecs. The Cholula Pyramid in Mexico is unique because it is the largest pyramid in the world by volume.

It is also the oldest pyramid in Mesoamerica, dating back to around 300 BC. Unlike the other pyramids in the region, it is not a stepped pyramid but a layered one. Instead of a single structure, it is composed of four superimposed structures, each of which was dedicated to a different deity. The pyramid is also unique in that it is still partially buried, with the majority of its outer shell remaining intact. Cholula was the center of worship for Quetzalcoatl, one of the Mayans' most important gods. When the Aztecs eventually arrived, they were amazed by Cholula's size. They believed the mythological giant Xelhua must have built it.

If you come to Puebla make sure to see this ancient sight. It is possible to go inside the Cholula Pyramids but as you saw the entrances were closed during my visit.
