LOWKEY SURFING SPOT - CALICOAN ISLAND, GUIUAN EASTERN SAMAR

Описание: Calicoan is a Philippine island east of Leyte Gulf, off the southeastern point of Samar. It is one of the islands that are part of the municipality of Guiuan, in the province of Eastern Samar. The island can be reached from Tacloban City by a 3-hour Van ride.


How to get there?

*Ride a Van bound for Guiuan at Van Van’s Terminal or Duptours -₱170 (3hrs)
*Arrival in Guiuan, ride on a tricycle going to your accomodation in Calicoan or Sulangan. ₱50/head

Note: There’s no decent accomodation near the surfing spot, try your luck and book in advance at Calicoan Villa. ₱1,200/fan room good for 4.

We stayed at AdBern, just along the road and the best option for you if you’re on a budget. They have a whole house ready to rent for just 800 good for 2 and a “tree house” good for 4 for only ₱150/head.

AdBern and Calicoan Villa are the only decent accomodations you can find near the surfing spot.
