The light-filled unique home designed by Aivory Architects is situated in Kira- Wakiso, with views of the Buwate skyline.
To achieve this result the house is constructed of cantilevered planes, built in reinforced concrete. The planes are anchored into the rock of the hillside and pinned down by the massive stone chimney and walls at the back of the house. A light curtain of glazing divides the planes between spacious interior living spaces and outside balconies.
Upon entering, the transparency of the house becomes evident with views out over the multi-level hall, lounge, the garden beyond, as well as over the double volume family room, dining room, lanai and kitchen. The whole of the living/kitchen/ breakfast area opens totally through the use of frameless concertina doors to the lanai and garden.
