Video: My first ever ride on a Class 769 Flex unit (769442 formerly 319442) between Wigan Wallgate and Southport, this was working a Northern service from Alderley Edge to Southport.
This was filmed in the DTSO-B (Driving Trailer Standard Open B) Coach which has one of the new MAN D2876 engines attached. Because these Northern 769 units are bi-modes (capable of 25kV OHLE and diesel operations) and the route is bi-modal (with a changeover at Bolton), this video will count as a first diesel only coach prospective, the next one will be in the motor coach.
