This is one of 12 shows I was able to record at this year's Furnace Fest. I was limited to this amount because most of the bands I wanted to record were at different stages so I had to become strategic as far as who I was able to record. The distance between three stages were significant enough to affect where I'd be shooting so I had to choose wisely. I kept recordings to shows where I had a decent view and I think these 12 reflect that. OK, so they might not be the best, but it was the best considering the circumstances! Trust me, I'll know what's up and be prepared in time for next year's Furnace Fest!

The '68 performed at the Baked Brothers stage, which is the smallest of the three on site. I shot this stage right in an area that's reserved for VIP and ADA access. Because this was my first shot of the fest, I had no idea what I was working with. My number one priority was to get as close to the stage as possible to shoot. I think I accomplished that.

Let's talk about my video. Sure, it was a side view but I think I zoomed in to get a decent shot. In retrospect, I could have gotten closer.

As for sound, there were two in-fill monitors flanking the '68 but it wasn't loud enough for my mic to pick up. That's why my vocals on this recording were so weak. Ugh...

What I'm most proud of is capturing the essence of the duo and the incredible link these two share during their performance. You can see they clearly feed off each other and that's what makes their shows so special. And this is the first time I've seen the band. Their reputation preceded them but I had to see it in person--and they delivered in full.
