The birthday balloons still float in the air in Chuck Kavalec’s living room from the celebration earlier this month: his 107th birthday. Born in 1918, when Woodrow Wilson was president, Kavalec has been told he’s the oldest living person in the state of Colorado, and one of the oldest in the whole country.
