These girls are on the run! We caught up with a group of Southgate Gators who are training for a 5K as part of Girls on the Run. It is a national non-profit organization and our group is part of the Capital Region branch. Southgate is one of several Girls on the Run teams in the North Colonie Central School District.
The program is centered around encouraging healthy body movement, while paired with a curriculum that supports confidence, positivity, strength, and leadership in young women. They meet two times a week, for eight weeks, and their culminating event is a 5K on Saturday, November 15.
The Gators are coached by Ms. Stella Callahan, Ms. Staci Lansley and Ms. Andrea Robinson.
