Using DNA editing technology, Benjamin Wheeler and his colleagues have discovered a non-coding gene that acts like a sponge to regulate memory cells. He says that means editing DNA and RNA can lead to better vaccines and cancer therapies.
Wheeler was a UCSF Grad Slam 2023 presenter, a competition that challenges PhD students to present a compelling talk on their research in three minutes or less using compelling language that non-specialists can understand.
