This Leitner-Poma high speed quad was added with the Burnt Ridge expansion in 2008. It is an Omega system with very comfortable chairs. Length is 6096 feet, vertical is 1437 feet and capacity is 2000/hr. The design speed is 1100 feet per minute, but it was not running at anywhere near that speed during this recording. During this recording, the lift averaged approximately 850 feet per minute.
Virtually unheard of for a detachable, this lift serves just two trails. Initially there were plans for 5, but the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority ran out of money and didn't finish the expansion. Instead of going back and finishing another year, they decided to rush another expansion that being the Ski Bowl. This leaves a 10 year old detachable that has been very underutilized its entire service life. On average, it only operates from early January to late March. For many years it ran only on weekends. It also never runs at full speed or fully loaded. As of now, this lift primarily serves as a pass through from the ski bowl to the main base. The race trail, Echo is also off this lift. I hope that ORDA eventually comes to their senses and finishes the expansion properly, giving the lift the ridership it deserves.
