The much-awaited inauguration of Noida International Airport is happening today, and it will be officially launched by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

Noida International Airport (IATA: DXN, ICAO: VIND) is an international airport under construction near Jewar in YEIDA city of Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh state of India. The airport is being built to handle 12 million passengers annually in phase 1, growing to 60–120 million by 2050 in subsequent phases. Noida and Hisar International Airport are being developed as an alternative to heavily trafficked Indira Gandhi International Airport under the NCR Plan, with Noida Airport set to be the third commercial airport in the Delhi NCR region, after IGI Delhi and Hindon Airport.

With a 3,900-metre runway equipped for low-visibility operations and a terminal designed for rapid passenger processing, the upcoming Noida International Airport is positioning itself to handle both winter fog disruptions and high passenger throughput, as it prepares to begin commercial operations in April 2026.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the much-awaited Noida International Airport at Jewar, Uttar Pradesh today. He is scheduled to arrive in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar, around 11:30 am for a walkthrough of the terminal building, followed by the formal launch at noon and a public address outlining the project's significance and future roadmap.

The airport received its aerodrome licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in March 2026 with approval for "all-weather operations", indicating that the required Instrument Landing System (ILS), navigation aids, runway lighting and air traffic systems are in place to support aircraft movements during reduced visibility conditions common in the Delhi-NCR region.

The single runway at Jewar, designated 10/28, has been equipped with ILS at both ends, allowing aircraft to approach from either direction depending on wind conditions.

This mega infrastructure project is set to become one of the largest and most advanced airports in India, boosting connectivity and transforming the entire NCR region.
