This is a list of things you must do and learn before you start your brand new snowblower! Watch this video to learn the controls, knobs, switches on a snowblower. How to Start a snowblower for the very first time.
1. Fill it with 5w-30 Oil! Regular Oil or Synthetic. I used a Valvoline 5w-30w Synthetic. Note: This snowblower calls for 16oz of oil. However, it came partially filled. Make sure you do not empty a 16oz bottle of oil. Pour oil slowly and check level often until the dipstick reads full! DO NOT Overfill! Overfilling is never good for a snowblower.
2. Fill the snowblower with Fresh Gasoline. Add Gas additives if you like. I only add additives when approaching the end of the snow season.
3. Watch this video to learn the controls, knobs, switches on a snowblower.
a. Right hand lever is to engage the wheel - self propelled
b. Left hand lever is to start throwing the snow - to start turning the auger blades
c. F1 = Forward lowest speed. F2, F3, F4, f5, f6 etc... faster to fastest. Highest number = fastest.
d. R1 = Reverse lowest speed. R2 = Reverse max speed
e. Make sure the plastic key is inserted all the way in. Snowblower will not start if the key is not inserted all the way in. Make this part of your troubleshooting arsenal.

Basically, to start a snowblower: 1. Turn fuel knob to on. 2. Insert snowblower plastic Key all the way in. 3. If the snowblower is "COLD", put the choke on by turning the knob to start. 4.Press the primer 3 to 5 times. 5. Master switch to RUN.
a. Pull to Start - once started, slowly turn the knob to RUN
b. Electric Start: insert extension Cord and press the start button. Once started, slowly turn the knob to RUN. No need to put the choke on If the snowblower is already warm or “operating temperature.
