ZHIK® ISOTAK® X REDEFINES THE STANDARDS FOR WET WEATHER AND OCEAN GEAR.
Going into the Volvo Ocean Race, we found a number of challenges existed in the ocean apparel already on the market.

We gathered feedback on how elite sailors felt their existing gear performed in races such as the Volvo Ocean Race, and found that ocean gear by and large lacked the ability to adapt to different weather and conditions, meaning that crews would have to carry extra gear, or compromise on the performance of their gear.

We found that safety and performance was compromised as sailors experienced inhibited central and peripheral vision from protective hoods and peaks, often resulting in a “letterbox” field of view.
Uncomfortable, sticky and tight latex seals that wear down too quickly.

We summarised that ocean gear needed to be safer, perform better, and be more versatile and more durable.

Isotak X combines the following innovations to tackle these challenges:

Versatility - Adaptive ™ Collar System
Allows sailors to unzip the main collar and replace with a series of interchangeable collars that suit the weather conditions, eliminating the need to carry more than one smock or drysuit. Compatible accessories include:
• Hydrovision® Hood
• Avlare® Balaclava
• Superwarm® Balaclava

Performance - Hydrovision® Hood
The clear, polycarbonate peak on the Hydrovision® hood allows for a greater field of vision, eliminating the “letterbox” effect.

Comfort and Durability - Reziseals
Tougher, more durable and softer than traditional latex seals, our new neck and wrist Reziseals offer unprecedented comfort with a soft fabric outer feel.

Safety - Biomotion
Biomotion reflective detailing highlights key points of the anatomy of the human body, enabling greater visual recognition of crew members, granting valuable split seconds of response time in times of emergency.
Developed and tested alongside Dongfeng Race Team and Team AkzoNobel, the Isotak X range features our latest innovations to produce the highest performance ocean kit available.
