Making a Buttonhole Stitch by hand

Описание: The buttonhole stitch has been used for reinforcing buttonholes for centuries. It looks similar to the blanket stitch and sometimes in books they are used interchangeably. However, the "real" buttonhole stitch is embroidered with a small knot which the blanket stitch doesn't have.

In other languages, the buttonhole stitch is also called: DE Knopflochstich – FR point de boutonnière, point de festón – IT punto occhiello – ES punto festón – SE knapphålstygn
