Czyz Adventures - Natural Bridge State Resort Park & Red River Gorge (Kentucky)

Описание: Natural Bridge State Resort Park is a Kentucky state located near Slade, KY along the Middle Fork of the Red River, adjacent to the Red River Gorge Geologic Area and surrounded by the Daniel Boone National Forest. Its namesake natural bridge is the centerpiece of the park. The natural sandstone arch spans 78 ft and is 65 ft high. The natural process of weathering formed the arch over millions of years. The park is approximately 2,300 acres of which approximately 1,200 acres is dedicated by the Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves as a nature preserve.

This area is full of hiking trails, many of which lead to arches. We hiked to Silvermine Arch, Natural Bridge, Rock Bridge Arch, and Whistling Arch. We enjoyed the scenic winding road byway but Nada Tunnel could use a traffic light. It is only wide enough for one vehicle and if another car enters while you’re trying to pass through, someone has to back out of the tunnel.

The crowds were starting to set in for the first time on this stop. We were a bit spoiled having trails to ourselves before this.

We are on a 4,000 mile road trip to see national parks, national monuments, state parks, & various points of interests.
