The girls' 1600 Meters run at the 2022 CIF State Track & Field meet will, for the first time, have three athletes who have gone sub-4:40. Sadie Engelhardt from Ventura has the top time in California and the Nation this year - and set the national Freshman record. Dalia Frias from Mira Costa has the #2 time in California and the Nation this year, as well as the California record in the full mile. Sam McDonnell from Newbury Park has the #3 time in California and the #6 time nationally.
These runners, along with Mia Chavez of Chino (#9 in state), Mia Torrecillas of Highland (#14), Sierra Cornett of Buchannan (#15), and other notables, are headed to combat this weekend at State where we will see who comes out on top.
