Thin Cylinders are used in Boiler, Low Pressure Pipes, Pipes connected to Fluid tank etc. Generally three types of stresses are generated in cylinder named as Hoop or Circumferential Stress, Longitudinal Stress and Radial Stress but for analyzing purpose Circumferential stress is assumed to be constant for all over its wall thickness as well as radial stress along its direction is neglected.
