In this video, I show you how to create this simple but fun stitch called "The Ripple Granny Stitch" it's a stitch that is designed similar to the Ripple stitch where you have peaks and valleys, but the stitches are made of the traditional granny square double crochet clusters. This stitch works up remarkable fast, it's really fun to do, repetitive and also unique. I loved doing this stitch while crocheting my shawl this summer, I knew that I had to share it.
You can use ANY yarn that you want to use for the project that you need and match the hook to that yarn. It does NOT have to be the same yarn, or hook that I am using! I just want to clarify that :)
The materials I used in this video was a #4 Worsted Weight Yarn (Red Heart Super Saver) in Light Blue. I used a Clover Amour Crochet Hook in Size J/10 6.0 MM For anyone that wants to know.
The Pattern for this is listed here below, if you want to follow along, I have a printable FREE PDF here on my blog: https://officialtwinstarhooks.wordpre...
If you want to just read it here:
Stitch MUST be in Multiples of 18.
Level: Easy
Foundation Row: 3 dc in the 5th chain from the hook, skip next 2 ch, 3 dc in the next ch, skip 2 ch, *[3 dc, ch-3, 3 dc] to create your peak, [skip next 2 ch, 3 dc in the next ch twice**, skip next 5 ch (creating your valley), [3 dc in the next ch, skip next 2 ch] twice, repeat from * across, ending last repeat at ** 1 dc in the last chain and then turn.
Row 1: Ch-4 (this is going to count as your first stitch), [3 dc BETWEEN the 3 dc groups, *[3 dc, ch-3, 3 dc] in the next ch-3 space (peak), [3 dc between the next two 3 dc groups] twice **, skip space (where the valley is and place your first dc to join to the next available 3 dc cluster) working 3 dc directly into the next stitch working 3 dc clusters twice, rep from * across, ending last repeat with * when you come to the end, you will skip the last 2 sts, and have two stitches left, you want to put 3 dc, and in the last stitch end with 1 dc.
Repeat Row 1 for your project :)
It is really simple! My video is probably more visually easier and more explanative.
I hope to see you guys soon, enjoy this stitch as much as I did :)
