Corgi Juniors Ferrari 512 S (012)

Описание: On the bench today is a 1:55 scale Corgi Juniors Whizzwheels 1971 Ferrari Modulo Pininfarina 512 S made in Great Britain. Corgi Toys were introduced in the UK in July 1956 and were manufactured in Swansea, Wales, for 27 years before the company went into liquidation.

Ferrari 512 S is the designation for 25 sports cars built in 1969–70, with five-litre 12-cylinder ("512") engines, related to the Ferrari P sports prototypes. This Corgi casting was produced from 1971 to 1973.

Everybody loves a Ferrari. I was in Maranello, Italy at the main factory last summer on my birthday! Cool. Although I was going for an honest restoration on this one, I have to admit that the paint mixing was too challenging. I got close to the maroon colour of the original casting, but not spot on. So, I decided that you can’t fight nature. Ferraris should be rosso corsa red with black trim. Much easier. So much for authenticity. I kept the racing decal #6 on the front and added a bit of exterior paint detail to my liking as well as a tiny Ferrari logo on the hood.
