This is an introductory video on how to find fossils on the undercliff shoreline between Peacehaven and Newhaven in Brighton area, East-Sussex, UK. Join founder Richard, and co-founders Grace and Smudge, as we discover all kinds of Echinoids from the Late Cretaceous Period - along with a fabulous surprise fossil! In this video, you will learn the basics of how to hunt fossils, and some interesting information about the amazing historic chalk cliffs!

A little more about us…

Fascinated by anything with an unusual history, Richard is always on the lookout for fossils and artifacts. From portholes to mammoth teeth, his collection is large enough to fill a small museum and every day continues to grow!

If the tides are good you will surely catch him at the beach - though he won’t be sunning or swimming, rather scanning for treasures!

Richard loves to show his discoveries to anyone who is interested, and insists that even a novice can spot a fossil on their first time with a bit of guidance - which is why he decided to start making short educational videos (with a little help from a couple of friends)!

Fossileyes is a trio of fossil enthusiasts - Richard, Grace, and Smudge - each at different levels with different skills. Richard has all the facts, Smudge is a camera and photography expert, and Grace is in charge of all sales and socials!

Now Richard can share the experience with anyone who feels inspired to have a go, whilst making sure they do it safely and lawfully.

Though many finds are left for someone else to discover, our Etsy page features some of his favourite pieces that are shown in his videos (or were swapped out from his personal collection!).
