Please note: I always use protective gear when I use my powdered dyes and I never use equipment that I use for dyeing yarn to cook food in, everything from the spoons to the catering pans and the pots are solely designated for dyeing and are kept separate. Always be safe!
Hi Everyone, how are you doing? We had some nice weather a little while back and when I finally got round to trying out some solar dyeing I wanted to try it on roving. Unfortunately the sun didn’t last even the whole day and the weather broke that very evening so I ended up having to steam set the jar to make sure that most of the dye was absorbed and struck to the roving.
I absolutely love the end result of dying this fibre and I am definitely going to do more using these colours both for a yarn and for more roving dyes on the stove top!
