How to create sources in data build tool (dbt) | Tutorial for beginners

Описание: In our next video in this dbt series we look at introducing the concept of sources into our project.

This involves modularising our configurations into a single yaml file to make it easier to refactor our sql project files if our source happens to change in the future. It also makes it easier for new data engineers on our team to understand the characteristics of our project from the outset.

Additionally, we look at a concept known as 'source freshness'. This allows us to understand when the data in our source tables is stale and can either alert us or generate an error!
