VERSE
Blessed be the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26

EXPLANATION
Today we meditate on a powerful promise from God. The heart mentioned in the Word of God is the inner man. The Bible says that though the outward man may perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. When God fills a person with His Spirit, that person becomes completely different.

King Saul was once an ordinary man. But when the prophet Samuel anointed him, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him and God turned him into another man. In the same way, you may feel ordinary, unnoticed, or without value. But today God declares that He is able to make you a different person.

God created man in His own image. But when Adam disobeyed God, sin entered and the glory was lost. Disobedience hardens the heart. The Bible says that those who refused to listen made their hearts as hard as a stone. But no heart is too hard for God to change.

You or your children may be stubborn today. Yet God has the power to transform hearts. When the Spirit of the Lord fills you, you are changed from glory to glory into His image. This is the promise God gives us through Ezekiel 36:26.

The Christian life is not stagnant. It is a life of continuous transformation. God does not only bless us outwardly. He works deeply within us. He gives a new spirit because spiritual blessings can only be received through the Spirit of God.

Our God is a Spirit. Those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Relationship with God begins in the spirit. Just as language connects people, the Spirit connects us with God.

If a vessel is filled with poison, simply turning it upside down will not remove it. Only when it is filled completely with clean water will the poison be forced out. In the same way, when your heart is filled with the Holy Spirit, all uncleanness is driven out.

A heart left empty is dangerous. When evil is cast out, the presence of Christ must fill that heart immediately. The Lord desires your heart to be His dwelling place. When His Spirit fills you, fear, sorrow, unbelief, and weariness leave you. Darkness cannot remain where light has entered.

Beloved, today God is asking you to receive His glorious Spirit. Allow Him to remove the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

PRAYER
Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your promise today. I surrender myself into Your hands. Remove every trace of disobedience from my heart. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and transform me into Your image. Let all old things pass away and make me new. Change my heart of stone and give me a heart of flesh. Help me live a life that pleases You and brings glory to Your name. I receive this promise by faith today. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
