Описание: What was slavery like in Canada? Most people are familar with American slavery, but little is known/discussed about its neighbour to the North, which saw the enslavement of both Africans and the Indigenous. Also keep in mind that when I refer to ‘Canada,’ I mean the area that would become the country in the future, or the colonies of northern New France, the Province of Quebec, Upper/Lower Canada, etc. before Canadian confederation in 1867, which occurred over 30 years after Britain had abolished slavery in the empire.
