St. Louis Children's Cardiac Intensive Care Unit works with the Berlin Heart, a ventricular assist device helping children "bridge" to transplant. I wanted to see one of these and met a little girl who just received one.
As a CHD survivor and heart transplant recipient I've been visiting other Children's Hospitals to learn about their programs.
Charlotte Smock, RN Clinic Education, provided the tour.
