Korea has the best public transportation system. You may be familiar with the KTX/ITX trains, but did you know that we also have tourism trains? There aren’t many English posts about these trains, but I highly recommend you try them if you are in the areas they operate!!

Here are some tourist trains that are different and unique:
⭐️ Arirang Train (A-Train)
⭐️ South Coast Train ( S-Train)
⭐️ West Gold Train (G-Train)
⭐️ Valley Train (V-Train)
⭐️ East Sea & Santa Village Train
⭐️ Sea Train (Gangneung)
⭐️ Rail Cruise Haerang

The Arirang Train (A-Train) runs from Cheongnyangni Station in Seoul to Jeongseon Station in Gangwon-do. Jeongseon is the cleanest region environmentally of the whole country. “Jeongseon Arirang” is a traditional Korean folk song which has inspired the tourist train to express Korean culture and history. It is an unofficial anthem of Korea!

The train has four themed cars with large windows and glass walls; sky room, tea room, and two of the cars are decorated in regional colors of red, yellow, blue and purple representing Jeongseon’s geographical features such as the Dong River (cleanest in the country) and the mountain ridges. The train’s exterior includes a purple color for the pulsatilla, Jeongseon’s official flower, and is decorated with curves that symbolize the Arirang melody (Wikipedia).

Towards the last few stops arriving at Jeongseon, a tourism company aboarded which made traveling to this destination so much easier! They had two tour packages at ₩10,000/person.
