How does victim mentality hinder spiritual growth?
1. Victim mentality weakens the believers God given authority
Luke 10:19 (I’m given you authority – Luke 10:19.
Our circumstances are temporary Rom 8.37 = we are more than conquerors through Him.
Spiritual authority does not mean absence of trials it means power in the midst of trials.
Battle is not mine but is of the Lord - 5.38pm.

2. Victim mentality contradicts our identity in Christ - 2 Cor 5.17
I am a new creation = our title; Gal 5.1 = liberty(free). Do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Spiritual growth begins when turns into a declaration.
From: Why did this happen to me.
To: This is happening to me.
Spiritual growth starts when trials are becoming as tools to grow rather than a punishment.

3. Victim mentality fails to see God's purpose in suffering.
Hardship is our firsthand testimony how God good is. James 1:2-4nkjv.
Not all suffering is punishment. Sometimes God is preparing, pruning, and positioning us.
Victim mentality. We are resisting the preparation of God.
Job 23.10 - I will come out as pure as gold. Pain does not mean God is unfair, sometimes it means God is refining us through.
Our God is the potter, and we are the clay

4. The victim mentality contradicts the gospel.
Heb 12.1 - by the grace of God, I am what I am. It is not in vain.
GODS GRACE SAVES US; DO NOT STOP SHARING THE GOODNEWS.

5. A Victim mentality focuses on the flesh, not the Spirit.
We are the temple of the Holy Spirit - Rom 8:5-6. - a victim mindset centres on emotion, past wounds, offenses, and self.
It reacts based on feelings instead of truth.
It prevents us from receiving the complete healing from God. Constantly remembering and meditating on offense feeds the flesh, not the spirit.
Whatever you feed the most = Meditate these things = Phil 4.8.
Freedom comes from our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. I will remember your sin no more. So why you still remember the old.

6. Victim mentality blocks forgiveness and invites bondage.
Eph 4.31-32 (Let all away from you).
Forgive yourself, don’t blame yourself. Jesus Christ made forgiveness non-negotiable.
Forgiveness is about freeing us from the ongoing bondage to the sufferings and the injustices both physically and spiritually.
Forgiveness = if you forgive you are walking in victory. - 2 Cor 2.10-11 = scheme of Satan, forgiveness is for our benefit.
Don’t harbour forgiveness = unforgiveness imprisons the one who was hurt, not the one who caused the hurt.
A victim mentality feeds bitterness, forgiveness starves it. Release the victim mentality.

We reject victimhood and live as victors in Christ Jesus.
