I spent 2 days exploring Vang Vieng, Laos and discovered why it’s become one of the country’s top adventure destinations.
From hidden caves and turquoise lagoons to wild buffalo in the river and hot air balloons drifting across the sky at sunset, this place has it all.
Day 1 I walked 20 minutes south of town to visit Tham Chang Cave and blue lagoon.
Day 2 I hired a scooter, climbed a challenging viewpoint, explored waterfalls, drove through the countryside, and watched paramotorers take off at sunrise.
If you’re into hiking, lagoons, waterfalls or even ziplining — Vang Vieng is packed with adventure.
