Nürnberg Handwerkerhof Info:

The Nuremberg Craftsman 's Court was created in 1971 as a tourist attraction in the so-called "Waffenhof" of the Frauentor of the last Nuremberg city fortifications . It is located at the “Königstor” entrance to the old town and therefore on the footpath from Nuremberg Central Station to Nuremberg’s traditional tourist destinations.
The Handwerkerhof offers specialties such as Nuremberg grilled sausages , Franconian beer and wine specialties, Nuremberg gingerbread , wooden and tin toys and other handicrafts.
In addition to the trade in handicraft goods, a focus is on the presentation of craftsmanship: visitors can look over the shoulders of gingerbread makers, potters , pewter casters, glass cutters , leather makers, goldsmiths and doll makers at work.
Special exhibitions take place in the Handwerkerhof throughout the year, for example the nativity scene exhibition by the Nuremberg Nativity Friends Association in December.
The biggest rush of visitors is recorded every year during the Nuremberg Christmas market under the motto Christmas in the Handwerkerhof.

History:

The craftsman's farm was opened on April 1, 1971 on the occasion of the Dürer Year on the 500th birthday of Albrecht Dürer ; its construction cost 800,000 DM at the time . The trade fair organizer AFAG renovated the historic weapons yard and built a craft town made up of small houses with imitation half-timbered facades . The design of the restaurants , workshops and shops was coordinated with the body responsible for monument protection . Due to the great popularity, the buildings were not demolished as planned in 1972, and the Handwerkerhof has continued to exist as a tourist attraction ever since.

And so many K-Pop concerts like Blackpink, Ateez, Dreamcatcher, Hallyu, Loona, Cherry Bullet, Chung Ha, Golden Child, Holland, Pentagon, Red Velvet, Suho, Viviz, Jay Park, Epik High, Jessie, Twice, aespa & (G)Idle,Everglow & Rolling Quartz. Also J-Rock band Scandal. (Some are Festivals where artists only did a few songs, others are full concerts)

In 2024 I have ITZY and IVE concerts all ready booked,and a trips to Devon, London & France later in April - June.
