Описание: Short video showing an updated version of my procedurally generated infinite terrain rendering playground using Vulkan. Lots of new additions that make it now look more like a real terrain with proper foliage and forests. This updated version adds in a dynamic, distance based grass layer and order-independent transparency using multisampling and alpha-to-coverage. Lots of optimizations have been done to keep a framerate above 60 fps even with dense forests, grass and shadows. These optimizations including dynamic draw batch generation, imposters for trees in the distance, single-pass shadow cascade rendering using multiview and CPU side culling. Still lots to do in terms of optimization, but at least visually it's now getting close to what I initially envisioned. Framerate sadly took a hit due to the video recoding and is better and more stable in the actual application.
