We Walked to Balos Beach (Crete, Greece)

Описание: Balos Beach is a gorgeous place on Crete with crystal clear water that, due to it's unique location is very calm.
Every side of the beach is different, from sand to rocks, and the slow slope makes it very accessible.

Balos is at the utmost north-western side of the island.
You can reach Balos by boat, which seems to be the easiest method, by car, or on foot.
Even if you go there by car, you still have to walk a lot before you reach the beach.

We choose to go on foot. As we where living almost at the start of of the dirt road, it seemed like a nice hike.
It is not a difficult route, although the road is slowly going uphill, but it was quite a distance.
In total we walked almost 24km.

And although we shared the road with some tourists in cars, it was beautiful. The sea, the mountains, nature and of course the goats ;)

Like everywhere we've been in Greece, it seemed that new stunning views were waiting around every corner.
