Skull Rock Cove Disneyland Area music 20 minute loop (1960-1982)

Описание: This is a 20 minute loop of the rare area music that played at Skull Rock Cove at Disneyland from 1960 until 1982. This was a heavily themed dining area for the nearby Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship Restaurant (Captain Hooks Galley, no sponsor from 1969-1982). It overlooked the central Fantasyland courtyard in the spot where Dumbo has been since 1983. We could see Storybook Land and Casey Junior to the north, the Matterhorn to the east, Dumbo to the west, and Mad Tea Party and King Arthur Carrousel to the south. The palm trees and calming rushing waterfalls added to the atmosphere. Skull Rock was constructed in 1960 as a recreation from Walt Disney's 1953 adaptation for Peter Pan. It was the perfect compliment to Pirate Ship, which had been there since 1955 when Disneyland opened. When Chicken of the Sea departed in 1969, one Mermaid and the bow of the ship were repainted, but sadly the other Mermaid at the bow was removed entirely. The bow was repainted again in 1975. This picturesque area was sadly demolished for New Fantasyland in 1982. Plans called for the ShIp to be moved to the small world area (Before Fantasyland Theater or Toontown), but because the wooden base had been replaced with concrete over the years, they didn't allow a budget for it to be saved. While I love most of that renovation, I think it is extremely sad that these two longtime landmarks were lost to time and I desperately wish for their return. It was definitely by far the worst casualty of New Fantasyland, and personally the first of a long string of painful closures at Disneyland from the 1980's to the present. This area's music featured many nautical sea shanties and looped every 5 minutes. I have looped it four times for 20 minutes. It was one of the very first examples of an eating area at Disneyland getting area music, along with Fantasyland Food which had a loop since 1955 (Linked below).
