Tank TV Episode 24 - Oil Tank Under Living Room Floor

Описание: Currently, we're on-site in Bedminster, tackling a 550-gallon underground tank located beneath the living room floor. Our team is hard at work manually excavating the area to reach the top of the tank. The plan is to cut it open, clean it thoroughly, and then dismantle it into manageable pieces for removal.

Today's task promises to be an exciting one. We're expecting an inspector to arrive, either today or tomorrow, to witness the tank being removed from the ground. Interestingly, there's a buyer involved in this project. However, they recently discovered another buried tank, which turned out to be an old septic system. Fortunately, septics don't pose any environmental risks, especially when they're as aged as this one. It seems to have been abandoned for quite some time.

Now, as for our progress today, we've successfully uncovered the entire top section of the tank. Our next steps involve cutting a small access hole, wearing protective gear, and getting inside to remove any sludge. We'll diligently clean the interior, wiping it down to absorb any remaining oil. Ensuring the tank is completely dry, we'll proceed to cut it into smaller sections for extraction from the ground.

Here's a unique twist to our day: we encountered a rather hefty groundhog, weighing in at around 15 pounds. This oversized critter emerged from beneath the floor and ventured inside the tank while our team was in the midst of cutting it up. Consequently, we had to halt operations temporarily. Now, we're reaching out to animal control to safely deal with this unexpected visitor. We've filled the hole through which the groundhog entered, but we'll need to proceed with caution to ensure there are no more surprises.

Our goal for tomorrow is to return to the Bedminster site, where we'll resume work at around 7:30 AM, depending on developments overnight. We're anticipating a visit from a wildlife trapper who will aim to resolve the groundhog situation. In the meantime, we'll be prepared to complete the job as soon as the site is clear.
