Описание: On the bench today is a Tootsietoy sedan. It’s pretty basic, as are all Tootsietoys. There’s no glass. No interior. Just a diecast body and wheels.

This is my entry to Opa’s first ever Tootsietoy build-off. I’m just a bit late.

Tootsietoy is a manufacturer of die cast toy cars and other toy vehicles which was originally based in Chicago, Illinois. Though the Tootsietoy name has been used since the 1920s, the company's origins date from about 1890.

By the early 1920s the name 'tootsie' was being used as a brand name and "Tootsietoy" was registered as a trade mark in 1924. The 'Tootsie' moniker apparently came from one of the founders’ granddaughters, whose name was “Toots.” Tootsietoy made metal prizes for Cracker Jack boxes, and this success in the 1930s may also have led to them providing cast pieces for the game Monopoly. The company also produced a large assortment of die-cast dollhouse furniture. Betcha didn’t know that!

FYI: I don't collect, display or sell the cars, and they’re certainly not competition entries. All of the Maple Leaf Customs finished projects that are kid-friendly are put in custom blister packs and go to my local Goodwill store where they are given to children for free. If there are parts that can be swallowed, those cars are given as gifts to adult collectors that are fellow enthusiasts.
