Story about a stretch of wild country in Cape Colony, South Africa (?) Shot of a train crossing a very large iron bridge which spans a large valley. Panning shot of a small island called Seal Island.
Closer view showing large number of seals and penguins which live on the island. Mossell Bay is seen from a high angle - moving shot, probably from a train. M/S of group of men and a young boy in black swimsuits waiting to dive off a rock into the sea. One of the men dives in. "It was whispered that the name "Wilderness" was tagged on to the country because it had no Cinema." M/S of large open topped car driving away from the camera down a dusty road. M/S of two cars driving across a rickety bridge on a lake - or possibly off a ferry. High angle shot of a water mill. L/S of the mill with a lake in front. The mill is reflected in the water.
"On now to Knysna can you sneeze it? It's about 60 miles from the railway - and no trams to get there." High angle shot of the town nestled in a valley by a lake. Camera pans across the town. "Then over the Keerbohm River - note the old Boer wagon and team." High angle shot of a primitive ferry moving across a narrow stretch of water. Ferry reaches the shore and teams of cattle or water buffalo are led off the ferry.
