▶ About this video: In this video I'll show you how to type in the margin of a Word document. This can be done in any version of Ms Word including 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and Office 365. This can be done in either of two ways.
The first method uses a negative indentation which can be set from the Paragraph Dialog settings in nay version of word or in the Page Layout Ribbon menu in Word 2007 and later.
The second method utilizes a simple Text Box with no outline to display text inside the margin. This method avoids layout conflicts as a paragraph can be on the same line as the text in the margin.
The Text Box method is done the same way in all versions of word from 2007 and later. In Word 2003 a text box can be added but has to be drawn inside a canvas. After adding text and moving it into the margin, the outline is removed by setting the line to white after which the canvas is deleted. All this is illustrated in the video.
