Описание:
“La lune blanche luit dans les bois” belongs to a song-cycle La Bonne Chanson, Op. 61 by composer Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924), setting texts by poet Paul Verlaine (1844–1896). It is the third of the nine songs in the cycle. The full cycle was composed between 1892 and 1894. The song reflects the atmosphere of tranquility, longing and luminous stillness.
English Translation
The white moon shines in the woods;
From every branch, a voice arises beneath the sheltered boughs.
O my beloved, the pond reflects like a deep mirror,
The silhouette of the dark willow where the wind weeps.
Let us dream, it is the hour.
A vast and tender, quietude seems to descend from the heavens tinted with starlight.
It is an exquisite hour.
