Hello, lovely fellow wine-dabblers! Today we are back at it again with the Greek wine! However, we are trying a red wine this time!
Today we learn about and evaluate Kir-Yianni 2013 Ramnista Xinomavro in Naousa!
Vocabulary:
Xinomavro– a high tannic and highly acidic wine grape with a blue-black color; native to Greece.
PDO– Protected Designation of Origin; established viticultural areas in Greece.
PDO Naousa– an appellation in Macedonia.
PDO Rapsani– an appellation in the foothills of Mount Olympus.
PDO Amynteo– an appellation in the Florina district of Greece.
PDO Goumenissa– an appellation in Macedonia.
Stavroto– a wine grape from Thessalia, Greece. In PDO Rapsani, it is often blended with Xinomavro and Krassato.
Krassato– a wine grape from Thessalia, Greece. In PDO Rapsani, it is often blended with Xinomavro and Stavroto.
