The impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte will need the votes of one-third of the entire House of Representatives or be automatically dismissed, a lawmaker said Monday.
Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua said Mrs. Duterte has until today to submit her reply to the complaints, before the complainants submit their reply within 3 days. Duterte can then file a rejoinder in 3 days before the justice committee votes on whether or not the complaints are sufficient in substance for impeachment.
The committee will need to submit a resolution to the plenary for a final vote on whether or not to send the complaint to trial.
“Anything short of one-third dismissed ang kaso,” he said.
