The Northeastern corner of Maine is a truly special place. This vast area of land is a mix of agricultural fields, rolling hills, rivers and lakes and northern forest. Potatoes are the primary crop grown here, but broccoli and cereal crops are also grown in abundance.
Several towns are home to a large and thriving Amish community. They can be seen working their fields and travelling the roads with traditional horse and buggies. At moments it can feel like you stepped back in time 200 years. The farms featured in this video are all Amish farms.
Migrant waterfowl are attracted to the area by the tens of thousands each fall. The birds utilize the potato and barley fields to fuel up for their long migration to their southern wintering areas.
