This event will shine a light on the alarming rates of overdose deaths among incarcerated individuals and those reentering society. We’ll explore the systemic failures that contribute to this crisis and learn about 1115 waivers and how they have the potential to provide essential healthcare services to those most at risk.

Listen to a powerful dialogue with Ray Mendoza, a Marine veteran turned social advocate who transforms lives through his work as a violence interrupter and restorative justice coach at Milwaukee's Northwest Opportunities Vocational Academy, and Marsha King, a Social and Human Rights Advocate, Formerly Incarcerated Influencer, and CEO/Founder of 13th Liberation Village nonprofit.

Featuring insights from public health experts, and individuals with lived experience, this conversation will highlight the urgent need for policies that protect the human rights and dignity of all people, regardless of their circumstances. Join us to learn how we can advocate for change and ensure that overdose prevention is prioritized within and beyond the criminal legal system.
