Featuring a futuristic look and following its successful launch on the famous Yamanote Line, a second batch of E235 (#E235系) rolling stock was ordered for introduction on the Sobu (Rapid) Line and Yokosuka Line.
The E235-1000 Series was built by J-TREC (formerly Tokyu Car Corporation) and features Mitsubishi SiC-MOSFET–VVVF traction control system. Green cars (first class travel) carriages are also featured for this variant.
