If you've followed me for a while, you know I've stayed here before and even did a hotel tour, but this time it's different. MGM has taken over, and I'm here to see if they've preserved the charm of this iconic spot or stripped away its originality. We'll dive into the Wicked Spoon Buffet experience, explore the pool, and give you a rundown on any noteworthy changes in the rooms. First up, the Wicked Spoon Buffet. I was eager to check it out as MGM's been notorious for closing buffets all over the Strip. I paid $47 for a Thursday brunch, and I have to say, the value is still there! They had delicious crab legs and included a drink, which is a steal in Vegas. While some of the whimsical touches are missing, like individually plated items, the quality remains impressive. I loved the chilled shrimp and Thai tea gelato, and the carving meats were seasoned to perfection. However, there's now a 90-minute dining limit, which could be tight if you're with a group. Still, I'd recommend it for the price and quality!

As for the hotel stay, the Cosmopolitan still boasts stunning rooms with amazing views. However, there are subtle changes since MGM took over, like the removal of the handy in-room iPad and smaller bathroom amenities. The vibe is slightly different, especially with the service, which has seen a few mixed reviews. Location-wise, whether you stay in the Boulevard or Chelsea Tower makes a difference, depending on your plans. I also checked out the Boulevard Pool, which had a cool layout and vibe. Overall, while there are some shifts, the Cosmopolitan still offers a great experience, and I'll definitely be back to see how it evolves.
