January 27 is National Chocolate Cake Day, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with a slice of something rich, warm, and meant to be shared. Baking brings people together, just like good conversation and community. 🍰
Enjoy this easy chocolate cake with someone special!
Simple One-Bowl Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
• 1 box chocolate cake mix
• 1 cup sour cream
• 3 eggs
• ½ cup vegetable oil
• ½ cup water
• 1 cup chocolate chips (optional, but recommended!)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, sour cream, eggs, oil, and water. Mix until smooth.
3. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
4. Pour batter into prepared pan.
5. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
6. Cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar or top with a light chocolate drizzle if desired.
Optional Simple Topping (2 minutes!)
• Warm ½ cup chocolate frosting slightly and drizzle over the cake
or
• Dust lightly with powdered sugar for a simple finish
