My name is Kelly Henry, and I work in recruiting at Susquehanna. Our founder's passion for quantitative strategy games remains central to our business, culture, and training today. At Susquehanna, you'll find board game nights, competitive chess teams, and puzzles scattered throughout our offices.

Our teams include chess grandmasters and World Series of Poker bracelet winners, alongside plenty of people who play games purely for fun. One of the unique aspects of Susquehanna is that everyone can be both student and teacher; there's always a new game to learn and someone ready to teach it.

I'm Michael Hines, and I'm a Quant at Susquehanna. While I was a graduate student at UC Berkeley, I received an email from Susquehanna recruiters about a brain teaser competition. Participating in that event made me realize that puzzle-solving was integral to Susquehanna’s culture and decision-making approach, which motivated me to pursue an internship here.

We've incorporated escape rooms into our interview process to assess how candidates collaboratively approach quantitative challenges. These scenarios closely emulate our trading environment and provide candidates a glimpse into what working at Susquehanna entails.

Escape room interviews reflect the nature of our work at Susquehanna—collaboration, quantitative reasoning, and the open-ended challenges of trading and financial markets. Distinguishing valuable information from noise is crucial, a skill vital not only for traders but also technologists, researchers, and everyone at Susquehanna.

Puzzles and games are foundational at Susquehanna. As an intern, I experienced first-hand our trader education, heavily influenced by game theory and strategies for navigating incomplete information, directly correlating with financial market dynamics.

If you're a student passionate about puzzles but unsure of your career path, I'd strongly encourage you to explore opportunities here. The connection between puzzles, games, and our work is clear. People who thrive on puzzles, gaming, competition, and fast-paced environments excel at Susquehanna.

Susquehanna's environment isn't for everyone, but if you love winning, competition, and solving complex, engaging problems, we have exciting challenges waiting for you.
