Today we thought we would take a look at wiping bottoms. During the Late Middle Ages, one of the most intimate courtiers, the Groom of the Stool, (and when we say ‘Stool’, we don’t mean something used for sitting on) was a thing. That got us thinking and we realised that the history of bum wiping is quite fascinating, and we couldn’t wait to share. So, here we go –welcome to Bottom Mopping with Medieval Madness.
