This week’s edition of Purely Perfect Peaks is a special one. In this video we’ve documented the weekend we spent in the world-famous Lake District. A stunning yet compact collection of lovely lakes, magnificent mountains and tiny towns, the Lake District can please almost every visitor.
We stayed in a remote(ish) lodge to the north of Keswick, technically outside the national park but not by much. The surrounding forest was home to the elusive red squirrel and other myriad wildlife!
Jack insisted on driving down some truly terrifyingly narrow roads and Dave hiked a mountain by his lonesome and got into camera difficulties.
All in all, a fantastic weekend!
We booked our stay through the website www.cumbrian-cottages.co.uk and we stayed in one of the 2 Snittlegarth lodges, link below. The lodge was comfortable, clean and, once the heating was on, nice and toasty warm. At the time of staying there wasn’t internet connection, however, we thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to disconnect. The host was very open, friendly and accommodating.
