Footage from the incident showed a settler threatening Farouq Rahman with a gun, which he took from him and used to shoot and kill him. Israeli soldiers and settlers then appeared to open fire, killing him and three other unarmed Palestinian men. Later footage appears to suggest Farouq was not killed instantly after the incident, rather he left the weapon and walked away, but was then shot and killed.

It marked the latest in a series of violent attacks across parts of occupied Palestine, as Israeli settlers were seen setting fire to houses and cars, as well as throwing large stones at them, while the Israeli army has conducted several raids and arrested nearly 50 Palestinians in Tal.
